I take photographs with the minimum of equipment. Usually I use a simple digital compact that I bought three years ago. It’s the equivalent of a Brownie Box camera. Rather than concentrate on spectacular technical brilliance I try to capture the mood of the subject whether it be a defunct woollen mill or a tree growing out of a wall. A small amount of processing on the computer enhances the ambience I’m trying to create but I don’t go in for gimmickry. The camera to me is merely a box holding a lens which captures what my eyes see.
